Maternity Shoot.

Last weekend Ainsley took some fantastic maternity pictures for us.  Dear, sweet Ainsley. I was feeling huge (can someone please explain to me how pants made out of elastic can be tight?) and reluctant to document these 35 weeks of glorious gestation for all posterity. I was ill-prepared for the shoot.  I waddled in begrudgingly while wiping yogurt off Ben's pants (oops!) right before we started.

I'm thankful Ainsley insisted, and I love how she captured this time of anticipation for our little family.  Despite my half-hearted participation and Ben's refusal to please.sit.still, Ainsley snapped off over 350 shots and ended up giving me about 60 really great images.

Here are a few of my favorites...

Ben is quick to point to my belly and say, "Baby!  Coming!"

Probably my favorite picture from the day!  Love those handsome boys.

Already such a sweet big brother.

Going to have to frame this one for the nursery!

Thanks so much, Ainsley!  We can't wait to meet Baby G in four weeks!

Easter- Twice as Nice.

After last year's Easter egg hunt being rained out, we were particularly excited for Ben to be able to participate this year.  For the week leading up to Easter (and the minutes before the hunt started), we were talking strategy.

Ben did great at the beginning, but quickly got distracted by the candy inside the eggs and let all the children around him scoop up the remaining eggs while he examined his loot.

After coming home and taking a nap, we let Ben hunt for his Easter basket.  He required a little help, but was so excited to spot the basket behind the curtain.  (Update: For the next several weeks, he pulled back the curtain and asked, "My bakis?  My bakis?")

Having grandparents that live a block away usually means twice the fun.  As soon as Ben went through his basket at our house, we went to Gramma and Grampa's for another egg/basket hunt and a yummy Easter dinner.

"Jeeeezzee is wizzin" is about all we could get out of Ben this year, but we are excited to continue to talk about the real reason we celebrate Easter in the years to come!
